ADVERT YOUR EYES
My newest series explores thoughts I've had during the last few months, told through the style of vintage advertisements, an undercurrent of skepticism that isn't obvious at face value, and American foods I grew up eating while I rejected those of my own culture.
Better
At first glance, the painting feels optimistic: an indulgent soft serve and syrup-glazed waffle set against a bright pink and yellow background, sealed with the validation of better days. However, when you look closer, you uncover the truths: performative positivity, superficial solutions, and the gaslighting of lived realities.
