ABOUT

Amy Xin is an oil painter based in Austin, Texas. She combines her love of typography with her background in marketing to create a new take on still lifes.

Her work is shaped by a deep fascination with consumerism, reflecting on both the collective pressures of late-stage capitalism and the subtler dynamics of personal relationships, all explored through the lens of her Chinese American upbringing. Amy’s paintings are instantly recognizable through their vivid colors and hand-painted text, echoing the charm of vintage advertisements and drawing viewers in with familiarity before revealing a more pointed edge.

She is inspired by the works of Edward Hopper, Edward Ruscha, and basically anyone named Edward.
