Amy Xin is an oil painter based in Austin, Texas. Her work is shaped by a deep fascination with consumerism, reflecting on both the collective pressures of late-stage capitalism and the subtler dynamics of personal relationships — all explored through the lens of her Chinese American upbringing. Amy’s paintings are instantly recognizable through their vivid colors and hand-painted text, echoing the charm of vintage advertisements, and draws viewers in with familiarity before revealing a more pointed edge. She is inspired by the works of Edward Hopper, Edward Ruscha, and basically anyone named Edward.
